Core Strength Exercise, It's So Much More Than Just Sit-ups.
Core strength exercise absolutely must be a part of your workout.
The core of your body is basically your middle section. When
people think of "middle section" they usually think of one thing - abs. They think a strong core means 6 pack abs, but it's so much more. A strong core is what holds the rest of your body together.

No matter how strong you are in your upper and lower body, a weak core will make the whole thing crumble. What a strong core does for you is so important. It will stabilize all other parts of the body while doing any kind of movement. An example is when you run. Sure the primary muscles being used are in your legs. However, all the muscles in your core are being used to stabilize your body during the complex muscle movements that occur while running. That's why it's so important to do body control exercises and have a strong core.
Are you doing the Best Core Exercise?
A great way to strengthen your core is by doing functional strength exercises. Functional strength exercises are movements that mimic ones you would do in everyday life. They engage many muscles at one time, instead of isolating just one. The most common gym exercises are one dimensional, and not very functional. An example of a non-functional exercise is the chest press. This is where you sit at a machine and push the weight away from your body (seated bench press). It works one muscle group and is very impractical. When would need to push 100lbs away from your body in a seated position? That's just silly.
